Happy Reading β¨οΈπ
The meeting room was silent except for the sound of paper and pens. Abeer and Vinay were analyzing some documents while Vedika and Rudra stood near the whiteboard, where multiple routes were connected with red threads. Abeer occasionally turned a page while Vinay kept his eyes fixed on the information in front of him. Vedika and Rudra remained focused on the marked routes.
Just then, the brown door swung open, and they all immediately stood at attention as Mr. Sharma entered with a serious expression and files in his hand. His brows were slightly drawn together, making his serious expression even more noticeable.
He walked toward the table, put the file on it, and looked at them as they stood in their assigned places. The heavy tension in the room grew. The four officers remained silent, waiting for him to speak.
"So, as everyone is here, let's begin then, as we don't have much time. Ready?"
The four of them spoke together in perfect sync. "Yes, sir."
Mr. Sharma turned toward the board. His eyes moved over the routes for a moment before he began explaining the mission.
"As we know, you four are going on our next mission tomorrow, which will be executed at Velvet Noir Club. This club is not just a club; most businessmen come here, and our target, Ranveer Ahlawat, is going to do his drug deal there tomorrow. We have tried multiple times before too, but every time we couldn't arrest him. But this time, I specially chose you four to complete this mission."
Everyone listened with full focus as they started planning. Vedika's expression remained serious as she carefully listened to every detail.
"According to our confidential information, tomorrow at 11 p.m., Ranveer will do his drug deal, and that's the actual window we have to catch him with full evidence, no matter what."
Abeer looked at the documents. His brows came together slightly as he went through the information.
"But, sir, for this mission, the three of us are enough. Vedika can handle other work, as I think it can happen that we have to fight there. Vinay, Rudra, and I will handle this."
Everyone's head snapped toward Abeer. Vinay raised his eyebrow in disbelief, while Rudra's expression became slightly serious. Vedika narrowed her eyes, her face becoming colder as she looked at Abeer.
But before anyone could say anything, Mr. Sharma broke the silence.
"Officer Abeer, let me tell you one thing. If I have chosen any officers for our team, they are not just ordinary officers. I choose them based on their mission records, their data, and their capabilities. And if I have chosen you four, there is an absolute reason behind it. I never see an officer as male or female. An officer is an officer..."
Abeer slowly lowered his gaze, realizing that Mr. Sharma was addressing his assumption.
He glanced at them, and then his eyes fixed on Vedika.
Vedika remained still. Her face gave away nothing, but her eyes stayed fixed on Mr. Sharma.
"If you are thinking Vedika can't fight or can't perform field missions just because she is a female officer, then you are completely wrong. Judging someone without even knowing their work is shameful. I have chosen her for her records, and you don't need to worry about whether she can fight or not. You all have to do your duty without trying to put any officer down because it's my duty to assign missions and to decide which officer will go on which mission. Understood?"
Abeer was taken aback by Mr. Sharma's words. His eyes widened slightly before he quickly controlled his expression.
"Sorry, sir, and Officer Vedika. I didn't mean that."
Mr. Sharma fixed his glasses while Vedika's cold eyes were still focused on Abeer, but she didn't say a single word. Her jaw was slightly tight, but she remained completely composed.
"Okay. And one more thing, tomorrow, when you execute the mission, make sure to cover your faces, as I'm sure there will be many businessmen whom we want to arrest. If they see any of you, they will attack you personally because right now your identities are hidden as you all recently joined my team. But they always keep an eye on my team. Understood?"
The four of them spoke together, looking ahead. "Yes, sir."
"Now you can go and do your work."
Everyone stepped out of the meeting room. As soon as they went to their desks, Vedika turned toward Abeer. Her eyes immediately settled on him, and her expression was calm but clearly displeased.
"What was that?" Her voice was flat.
Vinay crossed his arms over his chest. "Seriously Abeer. Is that really how you evaluate your teammates?"
Meanwhile, Rudra leaned over his desk, sipping his coffee and watching them. A faint look of amusement crossed his face as he quietly observed the situation.
Abeer looked at them. His expression showed slight irritation at being confronted again.
"Well, I didn't say too much, and whatever I said, I have already apologized for. So why bring this topic up now?"
Vinay opened his mouth to speak, but before he could, Vedika stepped closer to Abeer. Her eyes narrowed slightly as she looked directly at him.
"I don't care about your sorry because I know it was just for Mr. Sharma. But I will not prove my capability through words, so from next time, think before you speak for me." Her voice carried seriousness.
Abeer fell silent. His lips pressed into a thin line, while Vedika continued to hold his gaze without backing away.
Advocate Suryakant Mishra stood near the window of his cabin, looking out at the city. His expression was thoughtful as he watched the lights outside.
"I should call Vaidehi and remind her that she has to meet Adhvik Rajvanshi today."
He dialed Vaidehi's number, and she picked up after three rings.
Across in station , Vedika was working on her computer when her phone buzzed on the desk. She glanced at the screen before picking up the call and answered, "I will be there within one hour."
She cut the call, grabbed her jacket from back of her chair , and closed her computer.
"Vedika? You're leaving early today?" Vinay asked her as he saw her leaving.
"Yes, I have to go somewhere. I will come early tomorrow."
Wihtout waiting for response She adjusted her jacket and turned toward the exit and left from there. Vinay watched her for a moment, slightly curious about her sudden departure.
At Rajvanshi Mansion, Adhvik stood in front of the mirror in his room, dressed in a sharply tailored, deep-black suit paired with a crisp white dress shirt left unbuttoned at the collar. His dark hair was perfectly styled. His expression was calm and confident as he looked at his reflection.
He walked into the watch vault, lined with rows of illuminated wooden display cabinets. Adhvik reached out and selected a striking silver stainless-steel Rolex Cosmograph Daytona from the velvet display.
As he fastened the cool metal link around his wrist, he picked up a glass bottle of his signature luxury cologne, Permius, misting it lightly over his collar and wrist.
"Mihir, you have informed Ms. Vaidehi to meet me at The Virelle?"
"Yes, sir. I have informed her, and your car is waiting downstairs. We should head there now."
"Let's go."
Adhvik wore his black sunglasses and stepped out of his room. His expression remained composed as he walked out, while Mihir followed behind him.
At The Virelle
The low growl of an engine cut through the noise outside the club.
A sleek black BMW entered the driveway, moving with deliberate control. It swept around the entrance in a smooth turn before coming to a slow, commanding stop right in front of the club.
The headlights briefly illuminated the path ahead before dimming.
Then the driver's door clicked open. Vaidehi stepped out.
She wore an off-white saree that fell effortlessly around her, its delicate black patterns and intricate border adding a striking contrast to the otherwise monochrome look. The saree was paired with a fitted, high-neck black blouse, giving the traditional attire a sharp, contemporary edge.
Her hair was pulled back into a tight, sleek bun, leaving her face completely unobstructed. A pair of dark sunglasses concealed her eyes. Her posture was confident as she walked toward the club.
Mintues later , Vaidehi and Adhvik sat opposite each other on the dimly lit rooftop lounge of the venue. The wind blew softly , rustling the lush green plants lining the permeter. Adhvik's one hand rested on the arm of the plush armchair. His expression remained relaxed, while his attention stayed on Vaidehi.
Vaidehi took off her sunglasses and put them on the table. She looked directly at him with a confident expression.
"So, Mr. Rajvanshi, how are you feeling?" She crossed one leg over the other. A slight smirk appeared on her lips.
Adhvik looked at her in confusion, so Vaidehi spoke.
"I heard that you were desperate to meet me, so finally, I'm here, sitting in front of you. You must be feeling good now."
She smirked as her eyes fixed on Adhvik. Her expression carried a teasing confidence.
Adhvik leaned back slowly in his chair. His eyebrows lifted slightly at her words, but he quickly composed himself. He met her piercing gaze, a faint, unreadable smirk touching his lips.
"Desperate is a strong word, Ms. Vaidehi," he replied calmly.
"Well, let's come to the point."Vaidehi straightened as her expression turned serious. The smirk disappeared from her face.
"Well, let's keep it simple. I want that property, and I'm ready to give any amount you want for it."
"Mr. Mishra has already made my point clear to you. I don't want to sell this property for any amount, and my answer is still the same."
Adhvik took a deep breath as he narrowed his eyes. His calm expression slowly became more serious "But why? Listen, this property is very important for my project, and without this property, I can't execute my plan."
"I don't have any problem with your project. Neither is this my business. But the property is mine, so the decision will be mine, and no amount of money can buy it." Vaidehi's expression remained firm. She did not look away from him.
"It's not like I don't have any other way to buy this property, but I was thinking of keeping this thing simple. But it looks like you want to become my enemy. Let me clear one thing, Ms. Vaidehi Rathore: I won't let you ruin my project."His jaw tightened. His eyes remained fixed on her.
"Then let me clear one thing also. You can try whichever way you want to, but my answer will be the same. I will not sell this property to you. Aapka koi bhi tarika mere jawab ko nahi badal payega." Vaidehi's expression didn't change. She continued looking at him calmly, as if his warning had not affected her.
"Toh theek hai. Agar aap yahi chahti hain, toh yahi sahi, kyunki koi mere raste mein aaye, ye mujhe bardasht nahi. Aur aaj tak Adhvik Rajvanshi ke saamne koi nahi tik paya, toh dekhte hain aap kab tak tikti hain."
His expression became harder as he finished speaking.
They both stood in their places and looked into each other's eyes. Neither of them backed down.
"Agli mulaqat jald hogi aapse, Ms. VAIDEHI RATHORE."
Vaidehi's eyebrows lifted slightly at his words, but her confidence remained unchanged.
"Intezaar rahega."
With that, Vaidehi turned to leave from there. She picked up her sunglasses from the table and walked away with a calm expression.
It was 9 p.m. Vedika stood in front of an abandoned building. From the outside, the place looked like it always had old, deserted, and forgotten by the world. But Vedika knew better.
This place had a name.
The Hollow... The hidden ground of The Raven Syndicate.
Vedika stood silently before the rusted iron gates. She was wearing black jeans with a black jacket and a cap. Her eyes remained fixed on the gates.
For a moment, she didn't move.Because she remembered. Years ago, she had stood in this exact place for the first time.
Alone...
Broken...
Her eyes lowered slightly as the old memories returned. She had arrived with nothing but rage in her heart and a past that had shattered everything she once was. She barely knew how to survive the darkness she carried within herself.
But this place had changed her... The endless training...
The bruises...The sleepless nights.
The moments when she had fallen and forced herself to get back up.Little by little, the broken girl who had once entered The Hollow had disappeared.
And in her place, someone stronger had emerged. Someone who no longer feared the darkness. Someone for whom the darkness had become peace.
People saw her as a fearless detective, but no one saw the pain behind her strong personality.
Vedika's fingers tightened around her jacket. Her face became slightly tense as she remembered everything she had gone through. She had walked away from this place once, believing she had left that darkness behind.
But today, she was walking back into it.
Not because she was broken anymore. But because this time, she needed the darkness to win her war.
With one last glance at the gates, Vedika stepped forward. The rusted doors opened. And she walked back into the world that had taught her how to become dangerous.
As she entered inside, there were men everywhere who were practicing and learning. The sound of training filled the area. Everyone's eyes followed her, and Vedika's mind drifted back to the past.
Flashback starts:
Vedika was just 19 years old when she stepped into this building with Vikram. The same thing happened that day. Every man's eyes were fixed on her, and she could see judgment in each pair of eyes.
"Oh, so now the boss has brought a young girl here. But why? To train her or entertain us?"
Some of them laughed at her. But she didn't say anything at that time because she knew words would do nothing.
She looked back at them without flinching. Her expression remained firm despite their laughter.
Just then, a man in his late twenties came near her. A mocking smile appeared on his face as he looked at her.
"Oh, dekho toh kaise ghur rahi hai, jaise humein abhi maar degi. But bachhi, tum yahan kya kar rahi ho?"
He tried to touch her with wrong intentions, but she jerked his hand away.
"Don't you dare touch me."She looked at that man angrily, and it boiled the man's blood. His face twisted with anger, and his eyes hardened.
He slapped her hard.
For a second, Vedika's face turned to the side from the force of the slap. She slowly turned back toward him, her eyes filled with anger.
With rage, Vedika slapped him back.
"You bloody..." The man's expression became furious. He tried to punch her, but his friend came and stopped him.
"Abe, leave her na! Boss himself brought her here, so if he gets to know about it, he will not leave us."
That man looked angrily at Vedika. His fists tightened as he continued glaring at her.
Just then, Aviraj's sharp voice echoed there.
"What's happening here? And you guys, what are you doing here instead of training? She is new here, so behave yourselves. And if anyone tries to misbehave, they will lose their life. Understood?"He shouted with authority.
The men immediately became quiet. The man who had attacked Vedika lowered his hand, but his angry expression remained.
Flashback ends.
Aviraj's voice came from behind Vedika.
"Sir is waiting for you in his cabin."
Vedika looked at him and nodded as she went toward Vikram's cabin. Her expression returned to its usual calmness as she walked away.
His cabin was dark, with luxurious furniture. Vikram sat on his leather sofa as he lit his cigarette. The small flame briefly illuminated his face before disappearing, leaving only the faint glow of the cigarette.
Vedika stood in front of him as he looked up at her. His eyes remained fixed on her for a few seconds.
"Where were you all this time?"His deep voice echoed in the room.
Vedika remained silent. Her face was blank, giving nothing away.
"Welcome back to The Raven Syndicate."
"Why do you want me back?"Vedika looked at him with a blank face. There was no warmth in her eyes.
"Because the Raven Syndicate needs you, and you also need it." He took a puff of his cigarette as he leaned back.
"Once you become part of this darkness, you can't find brightness anywhere."
Vikram stood and walked toward the window. His expression remained serious as he looked outside.
"I will join it back only if you complete your promise to tell me who killed my family because you were the closest friend of my family, both personally and professionally."
Vedika walked toward him. Her eyes stayed fixed on him, and her expression showed how serious she was about the condition.
"That's the exact reason I called you back because the man you are going to deal with is not just a normal person so you have to prepare well first."
"Who?"
Vikram took out a brown file and put it on the table, pushing it toward Vedika.
Vedika picked up the file and read it. Her eyes moved across the page. For a brief moment, her expression changed as she recognized the name.
"The Rajvanshi family?"
Adhvik was in his cabin, checking documents when Mahir entered there, holding his tab in one hand.
"Sir, the meeting is scheduled with Kabir Malhotra at Velvet Noir Club at 10:30 p.m."
Adhvik didn't look up and just nodded.
"Okay."
